What is fingagent.exe?
fingagent.exe is part of the popular Fing app that helps people see what devices are on their network. This easy to use IOT (Internet of Things) application works alone, or with Fing’s hardware to keep track of devices logged on to your ethernet or WiFi network. The software is useful for knowing when devices are accessing the network when they should not be. The feature is similar to GlassWire’s own “Things” list of devices, however GlassWire does not require any special hardware to be fully functional.

Why does fingagent.exe access the network?
While investigating fingagent.exe with the GlassWire network security monitor on our devices based in the USA we found it connects to servers controlled by Fing. We found the Fing app could not function if it’s blocked from accessing the network with GlassWire’s firewall. After reviewing their privacy policy we think Fing may share some network or IOT data with their own servers for data collection purposes.
